Hookloaders
Hookloaders are the backbone of efficient container transport. With a hookloader system, containers and compactors can be loaded and unloaded quickly, safely and reliably. This makes hookloader systems the ideal transport solution for construction, waste management, logistics and industrial applications.
AJK designs and manufactures container systems that combine technical precision with robust strength. Our hook loaders are compatible with two-, three-, four- and five-axle truck chassis and are produced in our own workshop using high-quality materials to ensure maximum durability and performance.
What is a container system or hooklift system?
A container system, also known as a hooklift system or hookloader, is a hydraulic mechanism that allows containers to be easily loaded onto and unloaded from a trailer. Using a hydraulic hook arm, the container is lifted and secured on the vehicle. This enables fast container exchanges without the need for cranes or other external equipment.
Why choose AJK hookloaders?
AJK manufactures both the steel components and hydraulic cylinders in-house, ensuring complete quality control and tailored solutions for every application. Our hookloader systems are built using high-strength fine-grain steel, offering an excellent balance between low weight and maximum strength. This results in higher payloads, reduced fuel consumption and improved operational efficiency.
Applications of hookloader systems
Waste management and recycling
Hookloaders are widely used for transporting waste containers, scrap containers, recycling containers and compactors.
Construction and demolition
Hookloader systems provide an efficient solution for transporting construction waste, rubble and materials between job sites.
Industry
Industrial companies use hookloader systems for internal waste management and logistics operations.
Municipal services
Municipalities rely on hookloader systems for green waste collection, recycling centres and public cleaning services.
Different types of hookloaders
When optimising container transport, you can choose from different types of hooklift systems:
- Standard hookloaders: universal solutions
- City hookloaders: for lighter vehicles and urban areas
- Skiploaders: horizontal unloading of containers
- Quick-change systems: combination of hook loader and tipper for flexibility
- Customised hooklift systems – adapted to unique business needs
Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
What is the difference between a hooklift and a portal lift system?
A hookloader lifts containers using an arm, while a skiploader slides horizontally. This is often useful in confined spaces.Which lorries are compatible?
Our systems fit chassis with two to five axles and can be adapted to different weight classes.Which containers can be used?
Hookloader systems can handle waste containers, scrap containers, recycling containers, compactors and custom-built containers. Can a hookloader be customised?
Yes. AJK develops tailor-made hookloader systems adapted to the customer’s vehicle and operational requirements. What payload can a hookloader handle?
Payload depends on the selected system and vehicle configuration. Our specialists will gladly advise you on the most suitable solution.

The added value of our container systems
The AJK swap bodies are produced from start to finish in our metal workshop: the steel components as well as the hydraulic cylinders. As a result our container systems run smoothly, without any problems or leakages. Since we only use high-quality parts, the inspection always runs smoothly.
As strong and light as technically possible, that is our objective. And we succeed in this. The high-end fine grade construction steel which is used for container systems is up to 4 times stonger than that of the containers. And it is lighter, which results in a higher load capacity.
MOUNTING
Container systems or swap bodies are mounted on trucks to load / unload containers.
HANDLING
Our container systems are used in transport, agriculture and road building.
CAPACITY
The capacity varies between 3 and 30 tonnes.
Skiploaders
A skiploader or hooklift trailer is an extremely stable way to load and unload containers and compactors on or off a truck.
More information
City hookloaders
Due to the low pick-up angle, a strong ratio is created between the own weight and the lifting capacity.
More information
Quick-change systems
Quick-change systems are two-in-one systems for trucks. We produce the combination tipper – tractor and the combination hookloader – tractor.
